Yayee real glass! The wooden accents are a nice touch also. I hate when tea leaves get stuck in my mouth and in between my teeth but with this strainer, the holes are very fine meaning the leaf particles don’t make it through to the drinkable water! I love that! Finally! I can get free leaf tea again and not have that concern. I feel like the taste of the tea is stronger and more full. I get about three cups worth of tea from this which is plenty for me unless I’m sick! Glass is glass so I treat it like other glass items but the edges are rounded which is dope!

I love the look of this - almost mid-century modern - & it's almost perfect in its usefulness. Several people have reviewed for tea, so I'm going to share how well it works for coffee!I used to prefer a French press/caffettiera, but did find it messy & often the coffee seemed muddy, at least to me (was likely using too fine a grind). Using this gives a similarly strong robust cup, but it's a lot smaller of a mess, with few grinds/very little muddiness.I started by filling the steeper/strainer part about ½ full with a medium fine grind (next time I'll use medium) - which came to approximately ⅓-⅜ cup of ground coffee. I did about 3 pours of water just off the boil, letting it sit for a minute or so each time before releasing into the carafe. This made one very large mug of coffee (my personal pref), with a little left over. It'd be perfect for 2 medium large mugs.I did it a 2nd time without cleaning out that morning, just adding about another ⅛-¼ cup more ground coffee.It was delicious, nice & strong how I like it, & was much easier/faster to clean up than a full caffettiera.Other things I like - the silicone ring between the strainer/steeper part & the pot works well. I removed to wash initially - after some warm water went back on perfectly. I love that the strainer cleans easily - it's shallow enough to get into completely with your sponge, if you have to hand wash as I do. I love the wooden handle, which fits nicely into my hand with my thumb resting on the top of the handle. I like that it's lightweight yet substantial. Finally, it pours like a dream, not even the hint of a drip in sight!I wouldn't mind if it had another bit of rubber or silicone between the strainer/steeper & the lid & don't know if it would go well in the dishwasher as I'm devoid of that in my current incarnation lol. Personally, I don't think it needs that - most times a good rinse should do it!

Smaller than I thought it would be. Does not work great for finer ground tea.

This teapot is very charming and easy to use. It's not the easiest to clean at times as I've had tea leaves get stuck under the strainer between it and the glass. It's easy enough to get out but that also means those tea leaves could wind up in your tea. Ive only had the issue twice since owning it and I've used it many many times without issue. It's a nice size but not really meant for brewing multiple cup at a time if you are used to having a large teacup. Seems incredibly durable and hard to break.

The overall look & quality of this is very nice. The glass carafe and insert that holds the tea leaves is heavier & sturdy plus the handle feeling very comfortable to hold. This is basically a 1 cup tea press. As with any good quality tea leaf, it can be used to make a number of cups of tea so this is a plus.I measured out exactly 8 oz of water to see how well it filled the brewing basket & found it came to the very top of the rounded top with a little spilling over so I took out 1-2 TBS & it was perfect. The brewing basket has a rubber flange so fits securely onto the carafe opening. The seal underneath the brewing basket is also well made & secure & prevents any leakage until you're ready to press the top tab to release the brew into the carafe below. I found I needed to pour the tea out a bit slower than I was to avoid dripping but when I did that, I got 0 dripping.Overall, every component on this tea press seems to be extremely well made & there is nothing cheap about it either in quality or in appearance. It's a lovely product & I'm looking forward to using it probably daily. It's easy to clean but you need to dry the brewing basket upside down to let the water drain out. Some water remains under the metal strainer on the bottom of the basket & the seal is so good that it tends to hold it there unless you keep it upside down to drain. I'm very pleased with the quality and appearance of this tea press and would definitely recommend it to anyone. It will definitely take daily use.
